Interview - Tristan @ Wecamgirls.com

Tristan - Wecamgirls.com sponsor of Camgirl Cloud online Events

CGC: How Wecamgirls project started?

Tristan: The idea started in 2011. One day a friend of ours, who is a former webcamgirl, talked about her online experiences. When we asked her what she thought of as the most inconvenient thing of being a webcamgirl, she said two things. The first one was obvious; She didn't like the fact that she couldn't talk to a lot of people about what she was doing for a living. The second thing she said proceeded from the first one and it was a bit of a surprise. Not talking to others about what she did resulted in boredom.

This information had to settle and then a couple of months later the idea sprang up. What if we build a community website, just for webcammodels? There are lots of models and at least some of them might have similar problems.

To bring the boys and girls who work in the biz together, we could build a chat system and forum. A place where they can exchange ideas or experiences. Talk about the different camsites or fill each other in on the latest tech. And so we did. In March 2012 we launched wecamgirls.com. In the meantime it has grown into a real community. We've added some awesome additional features like a commercial profile page (camgirlcollective.com), a social feed and a (very comprehensive) review section. Now with over 22.000 models wecamgirls has grown quite a bit and we are still going strong :)

CGC: What difficulties you've encountered as manager of WeCamgirls project?

Tristan: Most difficulties were at the start of the project. We have a lot of experience building communities and you walk into this one straight away; To get members, you need content and to get content you need members. Luckily at some point there is a tipping point. That€ s the point when the € snowball€ start rolling by itself and when you reach that one, there is nothing that can stop you! It took us about a year to come to this point, but after that it is has been great.

CGC: How and why has Wecamgirls become popular among performers, adult industries reps?

Tristan: Our main selling point has always been this one:
We put models first at all costs!
The upside is of course that we have a project that is quite unique even if compared to other communities and forums. We want to deliver a quality product and implement other features that are not common on forums. We are developers ourselves, which gives us an edge because we don€ t use standard € ready build€ forum software and it is easier for us to implement new ideas.

We also chose to not get the forum indexed by Google. Privacy is very important especially in this branch. The downside is that we are harder to find in google. But we think in the long run, this is the only way to create a safe and friendly environment.

CGC: What was your first interaction with Camgirl Cloud rep.?

Tristan: Not sure. Dan was one of the early members of wecamgirls. With his designs we thought he could be a great addition to WeCamgirls. Since then you guys have grown into a very nice company. Congrats!!

CGC: Thank you Tristan for your time and extend our thanks to all Wecamgirls members and collaborators.
